15-year-old boy one of two in arrested on suspicion of attempted murder in Newry

A 17-year-old male has already appeared at Newry Magistrates Court

Detectives investigating a report of an assault at the Cleary Crescent area of Newry have arrested two people.

It happened in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

A 24-year-old man and a 15-year-old boy have been detained on suspicion of attempted murder.

Both are currently in police custody.

Enquiries are continuing and police want to hear from anyone with any information. The number to ring is 101, quoting ref 21/29/5 of 19.

A 17-year-old male has already appeared at Newry Magistrates Court on Thursday.

A 29-year-old male arrested in relation to the incident has been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
