Local voluntary and community organisations could be awarded money to buy essential items to help them with their day-to-day activities.
A new financial scheme has been launched by the Department for Communities.
With grants available of between £1,500 and £5,000, it aims to assist groups in need of small items of equipment to sustain and enhance their activities and services to the community.
The programme will be aimed at small organisations who may have difficulty accessing more mainstream funding programmes.
It is expected that applications will be received from a range of organisations across the youth, sporting, charitable and religious sectors.
Newry and Armagh SF MLA Cathal Boylan said: “I would encourage all community organisations who fit the criteria to apply. This is a great opportunity for any community organisation that may need that little extra financial assistance.”
The deadline for applications is 12noon on Friday, November 25.Follow the link to apply.
Items which could be eligible for funding include electronics and computers, kitchen goods and sporting equipment.
