A new councillor has been chosen to represent the Portadown district electoral area – which also includes Loughgall, Birches, Annaghmore and beyond.
Councillor Louise Templeton replaces her DUP colleague Jonny Buckley, who now represents Upper Bann at Stormont.
Councillor Wilson described her move on to Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council as a “huge privilege and responsibility”.
Councillor Templeton, who lives in the Gilford Road area of the borough, said she was looking forward to the challenge.
She revealed her election to the ABC Council on social media and thanked all those who had helped her.
Councillor Templeton said: “I appreciate there is a job of work ahead of me but I am totally committed and will do what I can to enhance each community, voluntary and business sector throughout the area.”
For the past 13 years, Councillor Templeton has worked in the constituency office of Upper Bann MP David Simpson.
She continued: “David’s commitment to Upper Bann as an elected representative has taught me what dedicated and accessible representation is all about and what you deserve.
“In the coming weeks I hope to engage with as many people as possible to introduce myself and hear first-hand the issues that matter to you and your family and I trust that you will soon find confidence in me as a strong voice serving you on the Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council.”
