‘More than a jersey’ Armagh FC partner with charity to help end violence against women

As part of the partnership, £5 from every 2026/27 away jersey sold will be donated directly to Women’s Aid Armagh Down

An Armagh city football club have launched a very special new away shirt that they hope will help further the work of a very important women’s charity in Northern Ireland.

For the 2026/27 season, Armagh City FC’s away shirt will represent much more than football, it’s about showing solidarity, compassion and respect.

Following the important conversation started by the Northern Ireland Football League ‘#NotInOurGame’ campaign, the club wanted to use their platform to help ensure that conversation continues beyond the pitch.

In April, the Northern Ireland Football League (NIFL) launched the campaign, with clubs, players and the wider football community coming together to take a united stand against violence towards women.

From squad photos to powerful player-led content, the collective response has showcased the strength and unity of the game in addressing an issue that impacts communities across Northern Ireland.

With 30 women having been violently killed in Northern Ireland since 2020, the campaign aims to use the platform of football to raise awareness, encourage conversation and promote responsibility across society.

That’s why Armagh City FC is proud to partner with Women’s Aid Armagh Down, supporting the vital work they do for women, children and families across the community.

As part of the partnership, £5 from every 2026/27 away jersey sold will be donated directly to Women’s Aid Armagh Down.

Women’s Aid Armagh Down is currently fundraising for Phases 2 and 3 of the ELEOS Centre — its vision for a centre of excellence providing specialist, trauma-informed support for women and children affected by domestic abuse.

Every jersey purchased will therefore play a small part in something much bigger. Every £5 donated will help Women’s Aid Armagh Down move another step closer to making the ELEOS Centre vision a reality and expanding the support available to those who need it most.

Said the club: “Football clubs are at the heart of their communities, and we believe our responsibility goes beyond what happens on the pitch. This shirt gives our players and supporters an opportunity to stand together, continue an important conversation and support an organisation making a real difference locally.

“One club. One community. More than a jersey.”
