Trapped pensioner rushed to hospital following two-vehicle collision in Markethill

A pensioner has been taken to hospital following a two-vehicle collision in Markethill this evening (Tuesday).

Emergency services rushed to the scene of the accident on the Mullabrack Road shortly before 8pm.

It is understood the two vehicles involved were a car and a tractor with the elderly man discovered trapped inside the car with first responders arrived.

Paramedics tended to the injured man who was then taken to hospital.

The severity of his injuries remains unknown at this stage. There are no reports of any other casualties.

Fire crews from Newry and Armagh attended alongside police and the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service.

There are no further details at this stage.
