The owner of a horse box which was vandalised in Markethill at the weekend has branded the early morning culprit as “gutless”.
Police have confirmed they are investigating the incident, which happened in the Bunker Hill area of the town.
A PSNI spokesperson said: “Police officers in Armagh received a report yesterday (Monday) afternoon of graffiti painted on to a horse lorry outside a property in the Bunker Hill area of Markethill.
“Officers attended and confirmed the graffiti was painted overnight, at around 3.30am on Monday 25th of May.”
The owner posted details and video footage after the incident, in which the culprit sprayed the letters ‘SGK’ and what appears to be a firearm target on the side of the vehicle.
In sharing his outrage online, the owner wrote: “Thank God we have good neighbours as he was caught on CCTV.
“He was wearing an engineering firm’s boiler suit but he was that gutless he covered his face with a balaclava.”
The owner urged anyone who knew the identity of the person responsible to get in touch with himself or police.
The PSNI, meanwhile, said “enquiries are ongoing”.
The spokesperson urged: “Anyone with any information or who may have seen anything suspicious in the area is asked to contact police on 101 quoting reference 1367-250526
