A man has appeared in court charged with murder following the death of Christopher ‘Chrissy’ Burns in Mountnorris last Thursday morning.
The body of Mr Burns, who was in his 40s and originally from Warrenpoint, was discovered at a property in Cusher Green on shortly before midday. He had sustained serious injuries to his head and face.
Aaron McAnulty (39), of Cusher Green, Mountnorris, appeared before Newry Magistrates’ Court on Monday morning charged with murder.
McAnulty spoke only to confirm his name and age, and to say he understood the charge against him.
There was no bail application and McAnulty was remanded in custody to appear again before Armagh Magistrates’ Court on September 30.
