Expensive jewellery haul stolen from two Co Armagh homes

The houses were burgled over the weekend

Police are appealing for information following the report of two recent burglaries in the south Armagh area.

It was reported that the first burglary took place at a house located on the Shaughan Road in the Belleek area between the hours of 11am and 8.15pm on Sunday June, 4.

As a result of the break in, a gold coloured locket and chain and an engagement ring with a six diamond cluster was stolen.

The second burglary took place at a house on the Drumcrow Road, Glenanne, sometime between Friday, June 2 and Sunday, June 4.

A quantity of jewellery was taken, including Tiffany bracelets and Tiffany earrings.

Constable John Anderson said: We are appealing to anyone that may have witnessed any suspicious activity in these areas at the time to contact Newtownhamilton Police Station on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference’s 1248 & 1310 of the 04/06/17.

“Or, alternatively if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
