Community prayers for John Joe, 10, after taken ill suddenly in school

A 10-year-old county Armagh boy is fighting for his life in hospital after taking ill suddenly in school.

JohnJoe Toner, from Clady, was rushed to hospital following a suspected heart attack on Friday.

Quick-thinking staff members at Ballymoyer Primary School performed CPR before paramedics rushed him to hospital, where he remains in intensive care.

The community has rallied behind the Toner family with a vigil mass to be held in St Michael’s Church in Clady at 7.30pm this evening (Saturday).

This follows on from yesterday’s mass at St Michael’s in Ballymoyer. There will e another tonight at 7pm.

People have being showing their support for the family in many ways, with some changing their Facebook profiles to a woven red heart.

Our thoughts go out to JohnJoe and family at this difficult time. We wish him a full and speedy recovery.
