Church plans free Christmas Day dinner so nobody need be alone or go without!

‘Tis the season of giving and at Markethill Elim Church they are preparing to ensure that nobody goes without.

The kind-hearted congregation is putting the finishing touches to its first ever Community Christmas Dinner.

Christmas can be a difficult time for many people for many reasons. There are those who may not have the chance to enjoy a good meal simply because of the expense, or those who find themselves facing the prospect of spending the day alone.

That need not be the case.

A free three course meal will be provided at Markethill Elim, where good food, fun and fellowship awaits all.

This is a fantastic gesture and one which is already being well received, with an encouraging number having confirmed they would like to attend.

Markethill Swifts FC have also been doing their bit.

Veteran defender Denny Clarke is heavily involved in this amazing gesture and the club felt they would like to help in some way.

To that end, they have donated selection boxes as an added treat, which will put them top of the league with the children who will be attending.

The inaugural Community Christmas Dinner is filling up fast.

So if you are interested in attending, you can contact Markethill Elim Church via Facebook.

Why be alone or without this festive season? This gesture of goodwill is there for everyone!
