The a young man was discovered badly injured by a river in a wooded area outside Armagh on Sunday afternoon.
The man, believed to be in his early twenties, was found on the outskirts of Milford village, just a mile outside the city.
Police cordoned off the area as officers and forensics conducted their investigation into the incident.
The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service was also on the scene – taking the young man to hospital.
Police remained in the area for a number of hours.
