Man charged with encouraging terrorism

Detectives from Serious Crime Branch have charged a 33-year-old man with encouraging terrorism and supporting a proscribed organisation.

He is due to appear before Craigavon Magistrates’ Court this morning.

As is normal procedure, all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.

It is understood the charges relate to suggestions made in comments during a speech at a republican commemoration held in Lurgan on Easter Sunday.
