Man arrested on suspicion of fraud

POLICE in Armagh are thanking the public for their help in the arrest of a 24 year old male on suspicion of fraud.

Police received reports of suspicious activity in the Armagh and Hamiltonsbawn areas on Tuesday, 23 April when a male, travelling in a white transit van, attempted to sell tools out of his van.

Officers conducted checks on the vehicle and stopped the van in the Richhill area. A 24 year old man was arrested and the vehicle and its contents were seized for further examination.

Inspector Nigel Graham, Armagh Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “I would like to thank the local community who reported suspicious activity and enabled us to respond promptly to their concerns. This demonstrates how much more successful we can be in tackling crime when we work together.”

The man was later released on bail pending further enquiries.
