Detectives from Serious Crime Branch investigating the trafficking of a number of people in the South Armagh area have arrested a 33-year-old male.
Detective Inspector Mark Bell said: “The male has been arrested on suspicion of Human Trafficking for Securing Services between 1st January 2015 and 17th July 2015, a number of fraud offences, money laundering and gangmaster offences. ”
He is currently assisting detectives with enquiries.”
The arrest relates to a multi-agency PSNI led proactive operation against human trafficking for labour exploitation when police rescued 16 victims of Human Trafficking working in the agricultural sector in South Armagh on Friday, July 17.
