Man arrested after attacking house in suspected ‘hate crime’

Police in Lurgan had another busy night and during the early hours of this morning a 45-year-old man was arrested.

He was arrested after a report was received of criminal damage to a property located at Woodvale Street.

Police ascertained on visiting the property that damaged had been caused to several windows of the house.

He was subsequently arrested for criminal damage and is currently assisting police with our enquiries.

Police are treating this as a hate crime.

A police spokesperson said: “Hate crime, discrimination and intimidation have no place in our society and I know that the vast majority of you do not want this in your community. If you have any information or any concerns about hate crime please contact us at anytime utilising the 101 number.”
