Detectives from Serious Crime Branch have arrested a man and a woman in relation to dissident republican terrorist activity.
The man aged 50, and the woman, aged 46, were arrested following searches at properties in Newry this morning.
Detective Superintendent Karen Baxter said the pair have been taken to the Serious Crime Suite for questioning.
The arrests are part of the same investigation that resulted in the arrest of twelve individuals in the Ardcarn Park area of Newry on the evening of Monday, November 10, last year.
The 12 men, aged between 36 and 75, were arrested as part of what was described as a proactive investigation into violent dissident republican activity in Northern Ireland.
