Police have charged a 27-year-old man with attempted hijacking and possession of an article with a blade or point in a public place.
He is due to appear before Craigavon Magistrates’ Court on Monday morning (October 18th).
The charges relate to an incident in the Monbrief Walk area of Lurgan on Saturday evening around 5.30pm.
As is usual procedure all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.
Speaking on Sunday, Inspector Kerr said: “Police responded after a report of two females had been approached by a man who is alleged to have produced a large knife and demanded their car keys.
“One of the women sustained minor injuries.
“We are appealing for information and witnesses which may assist the investigation to contact the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference number 1480 16/10/21.”
