Major Lurgan arterial route closed as emergency services deal with collision

Emergency services are currently at the scene of a road traffic collision in Lurgan.

The Eastway road in Lurgan is currently closed in both directions while emergency services deal with the ongoing incident.

It is understood a multi-agency response in currently in operation.

An eye witness on the scene confirmed PSNI along with crews from the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service, the Ambulance Service and the Air Ambulance NI are currently in attendance.

A spokesperson for the PSNI said “we are dealing with a road traffic collision along Eastway, Craigavon between roundabout 1 and the roundabout at Tannaghmore Gardens.

Please avoid the area as the road will be closed for a period of time”

There are no further details at this stage. This story will be updated when more information is available.

Update: As of 2am on Monday July 3 the road has been fully reopened.
