Transport Minister Chris Hazzard has announced a further major investment in the roads network in County Armagh.
Resurfacing and improvements to the Monaghan Road – from County Monaghan towards Middletown – are planned to begin on October 3 and to be completed by October 14.
The Minister said: “This is a further significant investment of £120,000 in the Armagh area on a heavily well trafficked road.
“The planned resurfacing work will greatly enhance the road surfaces for commuters between Monaghan and Armagh.
“I would ask the public for their patience during these works as delays can be expected and should be planned for.
“This investment is part of my vision to improve transport connections for people, goods and services. Improving this route will certainly help achieve this.”
A road closure, traffic diversions and temporary traffic signals are necessary when work is being carried out. The traffic diversion will be through Emyvale and Aughnacloy and will be signed during the works.
During periods of road closures, access will only be available within the work limits to local properties, residences, amenities and businesses.
It should be appreciated that some delays can be expected and should be planned for.
Road users are advised to obey road closure, direction signs and signals at all times and to cooperate with site personnel in the interests of safety whilst these improvement works are being carried out.
