Two rushed to hospital after pedestrian struck by car in Lurgan town centre

The HEMS team and other medics responded with one person taken to the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast, the other to nearby Craigavon

Two people have been taken to hospital after a collision in Lurgan on Friday morning.

It comes after a pedestrian was struck by a car at Church Place in the town.

Emergency services raced to the scene and the road was closed off to traffic.

A spokesperson for Northern Ireland Ambulance Service said medics responded to a 999 call at 11.38am.

Two emergency crews and a hazardous area response team also attended.

The Air Ambulance’s HEMS team also attended in a response car.

The NIAS spokesperson said: “Following assessment and initial treatment at the scene, one patient was taken by ambulance to RVH in Belfast and another to Craigavon Area Hospital.”
