A joint funeral will be held tomorrow (Tuesday) for two “beloved” Moira sisters who tragically passed away within days of each other.
Sisters, Angela and Patricia Kearney, passed away on January 13 and 16, respectively at the Royal Victoria Hospital, Belfast.
They were from a large and loving family, as two of a total of 12 siblings. They leave behind seven of those siblings Anne, Dolores, Joseph, Stephen, Gerald, Yvonne, Kieran, Sean and are predeceased by the late Maura and Brian.
A death notice described Angela and Patricia as the dearly beloved daughters of the late Bernard and Mary Theresa Kearney.
As treasured aunts, one of their nieces penned a heart-breaking tribute to the pair, saying: “Our two beautiful Aunties. You will be missed by all who knew and loved you. Forever in our hearts and loved beyond words.”
Those in the community have been left devastated for the entire Kearney family, with one person commenting: “Thinking of you all during this difficult time. I remember the day Angela was born. The first time I got my hair cut short, Patricia cut it. Childhood friends. Fly high with the Angels beautiful girls. Condolences to all the Kearney family my thoughts and prayers are with you all.”
Another added: “What a terrible time of sadness for your poor family. My condolences to you all. Rest in peace Angela and Patricia. So heart-breaking.”
A joint funeral will now be held for the sisters on Tuesday (January 20) at 2pm in the Church of Ss Patrick & Ronan Magheralin with burial afterwards in St Colman’s Cemetery Kilwarlin.
