Tributes paid to ‘kind-hearted’ and ‘beautiful’ Lurgan mother-of-one

Tributes have been paid to a devoted Lurgan mother-of-one who was regarded by many in her local community as “kind-hearted” and “beautiful inside and out”.

Leeann Conway passed away peacefully at Craigavon Area Hospital on Monday August 25.

Those who had the fortune of crossing paths with Leeann have described her as “friendly”, “kind” and a “gentle soul”.

During the course of her life she left a lasting impression on those she met, with one person saying she would “never have passed without a chat.”

Sharing their heartfelt condolences with Leeann’s family, one person said: “I’m absolutely devastated to hear this sad news about Leeann; she was such a friendly and kind person and a great neighbour.

“My thoughts are with her son Dean, her parents Gerry and Jane, her sister, brothers, and wider family circle during this heart-breaking time.”

Another added: “Absolutely devastated to hear about Leeann this evening. Such a beautiful girl inside and out.

“My thoughts are with her pride and joy, Dean, her beloved mummy and daddy and the whole family circle. May Leeann’s gentle soul rest in everlasting peace.”

Paying tribute to the sister of their esteemed club Vice-Chairperson, Sean Treacy’s Hurling Club in Lurgan said: “Everyone in Sean Treacys would like to offer our most sincere condolences to our vice-chairperson Daniel, and to the wider Conway family, on the passing of Leanne.

“The entire club stands with you all at this challenging time and we send all our love and prayers to you.

“Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.”

A death notice described Leeann as devoted mummy of Dean, loving daughter of Gerry and Jane Conway, loving sister of JaneLouise, Gerard, Daniel, baby Elaine who died infancy, Louise and Tori and loving auntie ‘yaya’ of Ryan and Amy.

Leeann’s funeral will take place on Thursday at 9.45am at St Peter’s Church for 10.30am Requiem Mass with burial afterwards in St Colman’s Cemetery.

The family have kindly requested no flowers with donations in lieu, if desired, to Friends of the Cancer Centre Belfast City Hospital care of Jack McLearnon & Son Funeral Directors or via donation box in the home.
