Thousands of homes in the Lurgan area are without power this morning (Wednesday).
A “loud bang” was heard close to The Hollows building site, according to Upper Bann DUP MP Carla Lockhart.
Approximately 2,000 homes have been affected as a result.
Homes in the Mourneview area, as well as Bleary and Waringstown are without electrictiy.
NIE said a repair team has arrived and is assessing the problem.
The fault, they confirmed, is due to “equipment failure”.
The estimated restoration time is approximately 10.30am.
