Teen arrested after fight in Lurgan fails to make it to court having suffered seizure in custody

Craigavon Courthouse

A 17-year-old boy was due to appear in court following a series of incidents in Lurgan on Saturday evening.

The youth, who cannot be named due to his age, was due to appear in Armagh Magistrates’ Court charged with a number of offences including assault on police, criminal damage and common assault.

It follows reports of a fight within the vicinity of Orient Circle, Lurgan, at 8pm on Saturday.

However, the teenager was unable to appear before the magistrates’ court due to the fact he had suffered a seizure in custody this morning (Tuesday), according to his defence solicitor Harry McCourt.

None of the facts around the case were  outlined in court.

The case was adjourned until June 14 for an update.
