A speeding moped driver who fled police in Lurgan whilst under the influence has been charged to court.
The charges relate to an incident which happened in the early hours of Tuesday morning (February 13) when police were on patrol in Lurgan.
At this time, they observed a moped “driving recklessly at high speeds”, with the driver deciding to make off from police through a residential area.
Following a pursuit, the driver was stopped a short time later and arrested for driving with excess alcohol, dangerous driving and failing to stop.
A spokesperson for the police said: “He will now have to explain his actions to the Judge. There is absolutely ZERO excuse for driving with alcohol in your system.”
