A third man has been charged with the murder of Shane Whitla in Lurgan last week.

Detectives from the PSNI’s Major Investigation Team have tonight (Friday) charged a 29-year-old man.

The man has been charged with murder and is due to appear before Lisburn Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, January 21.

He is the second man charged today – the third in total.

Earlier, a 28-year-old man was charged with murder and possession of a firearm and ammunition with intent to endanger life.

He too is to appear before Lisburn Magistrates’ Court on Saturday.

Earlier today, 25-year-old Kevin Conway appeared in Craigavon Magistrates’ Court charged with a single count of murder.

The court heard how the accused “totally denied any involvement in this murder”.
