Plans submitted for £2.2m housing development next to Co Armagh High School

The development will be accessed through the recently opened extension of Millennium Way

Plans have been submitted for a brand new multi-million housing development in county Armagh.

If approved, it would see the construction 29 new homes in Lurgan at a cost of approximately £2.2million.

Alwoods Pension Scheme, the agent behind the plans, are looking to erect the homes directly behind Lurgan Junior High School on Millennium Way.

The development will also be situated adjacent to the Church of the Nazerene on the Mourne Road.

The 29 properties will be a mixture of three and four bedroom detached, semi-detached and terraced homes, with associated landscaping.

The 1.2 hectares of land is currently lying vacant but will be complemented by the recent opening of Millennium Way after years of work on that particular scheme.

The opening to the cul-de-sac development will be made on Millennium Way.

The application will now be considered by planners at Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council.

Meanwhile, permission has been granted for the construction of nine new homes close to The Hollows in Lurgan.

Portadown-based Finnard Developments will be responsible for that project in the coming months.
