A county Armagh GAA club has been given the green light to build a new spectator stand.

Planners at Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council approved the facility for the St Paul’s club in Lurgan.

And the decision was issued earlier this month for the construction of the 150-seater spectator stand with two wheelchair spaces and associated access facilities.

The stand is to be erected south of the Taghnevan Sports Limited pavilion on the halfway line of the pitch.

The size of the proposed stand is 23m x 4.0 x 3.8m.

It comes just weeks after Armagh GAA county board unveiled ambitious for a new multi-million pound training facility as part of their three year ‘vision’.

There are also plans to improve upon what is currently available at clubs grounds across the county, with plans to increase the numbers of grounds with covered stands.

St Paul’s will become one of a only a handful of clubs across the county with a covered spectator stand.
