People using our services ‘is priceless’ as new Mental Health Garden opens in Lurgan

The Lurgan branch of Praxis Care – Northern Ireland’s largest registered care charity – have recently moved to new premises in Mount Zion House, where they have just concluded work on a new ‘Mental Health Garden.’

The space has been completely renovated from the ground up, and will provide a safe, relaxing and beautiful place for all members of the public to enjoy.

Armagh I visited the garden at Mount Zion House and chatted with Cathy Lyness, the Manager of Praxis Lurgan, who told us all about the aim behind the garden. Cathay wants to raise awareness of “mental health, service provisions, and that we’re here.”

“My door’s always open”, she says.

“Feel free, you could come and have a chat, or just come and be present.

“We continue with the main goal of supporting individuals in their own lives, and for them to live their best lives.

“People coming to use our services is priceless, and it really makes it all worthwhile to continue to do what we do.”

Praxis will hold their annual BBQ and Garden party on Tuesday, August 30.
