
Firefighters were forced to cut a driver from a car following a single-vehicle collision in Lurgan this morning (Friday).
Emergency services were called to the scene of the collision on the Belfast Road shortly after 7am.
Fire crews from Lurgan and Lisburn attended the scene close to the Beechfield Avenue area.
A NIFRS spokesperson said: “Firefighters used specialist cutting equipment to rescue one casualty from a vehicle. The casualty was left in the care of NI Ambulance Service and the incident was dealt with by 9.15am.”
A spokesperson for the NI Ambulance Service (NIAS) added: “We received a 999 call at 7.09am following reports of an RTC in the Beechfield Avenue area of Lurgan.
“NIAS despatched one emergency crew to the incident.
“Following assessment and initial treatment at the scene, one patient was transported to Craigavon Area Hospital.
The road has since re-opened.
