Man armed with hammer threatens staff member before making off with money

A man armed with a hammer threatened a member of staff at a Co Armagh shop before making off with a sum of money.

Detectives in are appealing for information after the report of an armed robbery in the Lough Road area of Lurgan yesterday afternoon, Wednesday, October 3.

It was reported that shortly before 3.30pm a man armed with a hammer entered a shop in the area and threatened a member of staff before making off with a sum of money.

The man is described as being approximately six-foot tall, of stocky build, wearing a grey hooded top and dark coloured bottoms.

The man made off on foot in the direction of Victoria Street.

Detectives are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who may have information about the incident to contact Detectives at Lurgan on 101 quoting reference 777 03/10/18.

Alternatively, information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime.
