Man and woman taken to hospital after separate road collisions in Lurgan this weekend

Two people were taken to hospital after separate road traffic collisions in Lurgan this weekend.

And police are appealing for witnesses with information on either to come forward.

The most recent happened early this morning (Sunday), at Avenue Road.

It was reported that a male pedestrian was struck by a vehicle shortly after 1.45am.

Officers attended alongside colleagues from NIAS and the man, aged in his 60s, was taken to hospital for injuries which are not believed to be life threatening at this time.

A PSNI spokesperson said: “Enquiries are ongoing and anyone who witnessed the collision or who has dashcam or other footage should contact Police on 101 quoting reference 208 of 10/12/23.”

Police also confirmed they had received a report of a two vehicle collision in the Union Street area of Lurgan at around 6.40pm yesterday, (Saturday).

Officers attended alongside colleagues from NIFRS and NIAS, and a woman in her 20s was taken to hospital for treatment to her injuries.

Again, enquiries are ongoing and police are appealing to anyone who was travelling in the area around the time of the collision and who has dash-cam footage, to contact them on 101, and quote reference number 1393 of 09/12/23.
