A 48-year-old man charged with attempted murder after a bomb was driven to Lurgan PSNI Station in March has been further remanded in custody.
The New IRA had claimed responsibility for the attack.
A food delivery driver was hijacked in the Kilwilkie area of Lurgan and forced to drive a “crude but viable” device to the station.
Barry Anthony Toman, with an address listed as Drumnamoe Avenue, which is in Kilwilkie, is charged in relation to March 30 this year.
He is charged with attempted to murder ‘persons unknown’; attempting to cause an explosion; hijacking; and possession of explosives with intent to endanger life.
The charge sheet mentions an ‘improvised explosive device’.
The hijacking charge is ‘hijacking by compelling person to act’ with the full charge being that ‘unlawfully by force or threat thereof or by some other form of intimidation compelled a person to use a vehicle, namely an Audi A4, for an unlawful purpose, namely transporting an improvised explosive device to the vicinity of Lurgan PSNI Station’.
A prosecutor told Friday’s Craigavon Magistrates’ Court the full case file is due at her department from police on June 19.
The case has now been adjourned to June 26.
