A man accused of walking along a rural road carrying a suspected firearm is to appear in court next month.
Police investigating a firearms-related report in the Dromore area on Tuesday morning, July 25 have charged an 18-year-old with two offences under the Firearms (Northern Ireland) Order 2004.
He is due to appear before Banbridge Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, August 17.
As is usual procedure, all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.
The charges relate to a report of a man walking in the Killysorrell Road area of Dromore with a suspected firearm.
Police attended and he was subsequently detained by officers from the Police Service’s Armed Response Unit, assisted by its dog section.
