A Co Armagh company is planning a major investment in the future with plans to build a £2 million storage distribution centre in Lurgan.
Electronic Excellence Ltd has earmarked a site at the Silverwood Industrial Estate for the proposed development.
An application has now been submitted to Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council for consideration.
The company hopes to build a two-storey “industrial building” – under the class designated as “storage distribution” – with a floorspace stretching close to 30,000 sq ft.
The development would also include new offices, as well as car park provision, landscaping and siteworks.
The new buildings – estimated by Construction Information Services to cost in the region of £2 million – will be on a site just south of the company’s existing base at 7 Silverwood Industrial Area, Silverwood Road, Lurgan.
Electronic Excellence, according to the company website, supplies electrical and electromechanical components and prides itself on bringing value to customers by working closely with them to ensure their technical and operational requirements are fully satisfied – and in the most cost-effective and timely manner.
And the website adds: “Our customer base is made up from a diverse and varied range of commercial, industrial, automotive and aerospace clients from the UK and Europe, right across the world to the far reaches of North America, China and the Middle East.
“Whether your needs lie within data acquisition, telecoms or more specialist market segments such as medical, aerospace and power generation – no matter what your field of expertise, we are ideally placed to assist you.”
According to the application, the new-built will be constructed in a yard and will have integrated solar PV panels on the roof.
Neighbours – among them Agrihealth, Silverwood Enterprise Ltd and McDonald and Lappin Engineering – have been notified of the proposals.
The application is due to be publicly advertised next week with a decision due in the coming months.
