Knife held to man’s throat in terrifying armed robbery in Lurgan

The man held the knife to the victim’s throat and told him to lie on the ground and threatened him.

Police are investigating the report of an armed robbery in Lurgan on Friday night, July 7.

The terrifying incident happened in the Logan Drive area of the town at approximately 11:30pm.

Sergeant Victoria Holmes said: “It was reported to police at around 11.30pm that a man had been walking in the Logan Drive area when he was approached by a man armed with a knife.

The man held the knife to the victim’s throat and told him to lie on the ground and threatened him. The suspect took the man’s bag and wallet and was chased from the scene by a man who witnessed the incident”

The victim was uninjured but left badly shaken by the incident.

The man is described as being dressed in black and wearing a black face mask.

“I would appeal to anyone with any information about this incident to contact police on 101 quoting reference number 2179 of 07/07/23.
