A Lurgan man who spat inside a police cell van and kicked a CCTV camera in the vehicle has been jailed for six months.
Caolan Shannon (30), of Ardboe Drive, admitted criminal damage on December 27 last year.
He appeared at Craigavon Magistrates’ Court via video link from prison.
The court heard he ran off from police and when arrested was aggressive.
A defence barrister said the defendant, who had 98 previous convictions, is trying to address a “difficulty with drink and drugs”.
Jailing the defendant, District Judge Natasha Fitzsimons said the defendant’s behaviour had been “disgraceful”.
The defence barrister said the defendant is now “time served”.
