A Lurgan-based social club has announced it may possibly cease to operate if the “situation does not improve”.
Glenavon Social Club – based at Glenavon Football Club on Mournview Avenue – made the announcement on Tuesday (November 3) via their social media platforms.
The club has been operational for more than half a century.
In a statement to members and friends, the committee said: “Due to strained financial circumstances the Club is facing closure if the situation does not improve.
“We are asking all members and friends to please consider using the Club on a more regular basis so that we can stay open and operating, as we have done for the past 55 years.”
The prospect of closure will only effect the social club and has no bearing over the ongoing operations of Glenavon Football Club.
