Flooding causing concern in Lurgan town centre

Flooding is causing some problems in Lurgan town centre this afternoon (Wednesday)

NI Water and contractors have been tasked to the problem the Edward Street area of the town.

Parts of the footpath are currently impassable.

Upper Bann SDLP said the problem has been reported – with NI Water already on the scene – and will be resolved as soon as possible.

A spokesperson for the party said: “Please be very careful when driving or walking on Edward Street, Lurgan (Shop side) as both the footpath and part of the road is flooded.

“We have spoken to NI Water and are currently investigating.”

In the meantime, avoid walking in the area, if possible.
