A dark cloud is hanging over a Lurgan community once more following the sudden death of another young person over the weekend.
Ciaran Hendron, who would have celebrated his birthday next week, passed away suddenly on Saturday evening.
A funeral notice described Ciaran as the dearly beloved son of Cathal and Jacqueline, and much loved brother of Gary and Aisling and partner of Kate, loving grandson of Mick and Dympna Hendron and the late Jackie and Lily McEnoy R.I.P.
His brother Gary said his heart “has been shattered”.
“My baby brother has gone to be with his Granny and Granda and best friend above, I love you so much bro,” he wrote. Ciaran lost his best friend Séanna in a road traffic accident in July 2019.
His sister Aisling said she has “never felt pain like this”.
“To the very end wee man, love you to bits, may you get the best bed up above, my heart is broken.”
Ciaran’s partner Kate added: “What are we gonna do, wish it was all a big dream 💔 my heart will never ever be the same ever again, me and ‘our b’ will love you forever, our very own guardian angel now 💖💖 til we meet again my best friend 💔.”
Lurgan Celtic FC offered their condolences to the Hendron family.
The Club posted: “It is with deep sadness that the club has learned of the passing of Ciaran Hendron. Brother to our great club man, Gary; and son to long-standing supporter Cathal, and his wife Jacqueline, our thoughts and prayers are with the entire family circle at this extremely testing time. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.”
Craigavon Darts League commented: “The committee and members of the Craigavon District Darts League would like to send their condolences and prayers to our dear friends Cathal and Gary Hendron and family on the passing of their beloved son and brother Ciaran. May he rest in peace.”
Hundreds of tributes flooded social media.
One woman commented: “Absolutely shocked to say the least. Definitely not a phone call I was expecting. Rest easy Ciaran Hendron lad. Safe to say God only takes the best…”
Another wrote: “Nothing but awful, heartbreaking news in this place the past few weeks. Rip Ciaran. Thinking of Kate, Aislíng and the rest of his family and friends during this hard time. Forever young, forever loved.”
Funeral arrangements have not yet been released.
