A family pet was mauled to death in a county Armagh housing estate on Saturday night.
It’s the second similar attack in the Kilwilkie estate in Lurgan in less than a week.
In a post on a county Armagh lost pets page, the horrific news was shared of another violent attack.
Sharon Henderson posted: “So our family pet, my mummy’s wee dog, wee Benji was mauled to death tonight by two dogs in this (Kilwilkie) estate.
“This is the second dog this week.
“Please, please people look after your pets and to those letting their animals roam freely, you should be ashamed of yourselves.
“Another little piece of our family gone, heartbroken to say the least.”
In the early hours of Tuesday morning, a young family were left traumatised after their pet dog Woody was set upon by a group of young men and their dogs.
Its were awakened in their beds at their home around 2am to the noise of the vicious attack.
Fortunately, Woody is making a recovery.
People have understandably reacted with anger and revulsion at this latest, sickening incident.
One woman said: “This is a police matter now poor wee dog and it’s owner but a child is going to be killed if they are not caught.”
Sharon commented underneath explaining the circumstances around the incident.
“Just keep your pets safe guys,” she pleaded. “Wee Benji was only ever outside for his evening walk…same time every night for years.
“Not sure of the breed of dogs that done this to him but needless to say the owners of them need to take a good look at themselves..some poor child could be next.”
