Couple’s car damaged as they visit relative’s grave

The car was parked outside St Colman's Cemetery

A young couple who were visiting a relative’s grave in Lurgan returned to their car to find it had been damaged in a hit-and-run incident.

The silver Vauxhall Astra had been parked outside St Colman’s Cemetery on the North Circular Road when it was struck sometime yesterday (Wednesday) evening between 5.15pm and 5.50pm.

It’s believed the other car was green in colour.

Councillor Keith Haughian said: “The police are aware of the incident and I am calling on anyone who witnessed it to come forward with information.”

Police said they had received a report of the incident and have asked anyone with information to contact them on 101 quoting reference 1381 27/07/22.
