Co Armagh travel agents commended for ‘lovely gesture’ following Thomas Cook news

A Co Armagh travel agency has been commended for their “lovely gesture” in light Thomas Cook’s unexpected demise.

Travel giant Thomas Cook went into administration in the early hours of this morning putting 22,000 jobs at risk worldwide, including 9,000 in the UK.

Clubworld Travel in Lurgan responded to the devastating news by offering affected staff a number of vacancies at their stores across Northern Ireland.

“To any of the Thomas Cook staff in Northern Ireland, we have a number of vacancies available for travel advisors and two management positions,” their post stated.

And their post has been shared almost 1,000 times, with hundreds of comments, many of which are tagging Thomas Cook staff who have today lost their jobs.

One woman commented: “What a fantastic company to put this out.”

While another said: “Well done Clubworld lovely gesture hope Thoas Cook staff take the offer.”

Others posted “such a nice thing to do” while one simply said “awk that’s great, fair play to yas.”

And one posted: “Best travel agency about.”
