A Co Armagh GAA club is planning to improve facilities at its ground.
Wolfe Tone GAC hopes to be given the go-ahead for the addition of a spectator stand.
The club – based at Derrymacash Road in Lurgan – celebrated its centenary last year.
And now it is planning for the future with this new facility.
The stand would accommodate 200 spectators and two wheelchair spaces, with associated facilities and access.
Wolfe Tone GAC has submitted a planning application to Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council for consideration.
In its papers it states: “The site is currently used as a community sports ground facility, comprising of a sports pavilion club house with changing rooms and toilets.
“The site has in excess of 200 parking spaces and two playing pitches. It is a community facility and a non-profit facility.”
The plans are due to be publicly advertised next week.
The club would benefit greatly from the provision of the stand and it is expected that a decision will be made in the coming months, facilitating development in the new year if successful.
