Car ended up on roof and driver in hospital after traffic lights smashed in earlier RTC

Police accident

A car ended up on its roof and a driver in hospital after traffic lights were damaged in an earlier “hit and run” collision.

Police in Craigavon are appealing for information following a series of incidents in Lurgan on Tuesday morning.

A PSNI spokesperson said: “Did you see someone playing dodgems with the traffic lights at the Russell Drive/ Tandragee Road / Union Street junction?

“Between midnight and just after 5am, a traffic light was struck and damaged by a vehicle. As of yet, this hasn’t been reported to us by the driver.

“Whilst it is technically a hit and run damage only RTC…the lack of lights later lead to an RTC where a vehicle ended up on it’s roof and it’s driver in hospital.

“If you know who was responsible for the damage to the lights, please call us on 101. The reference number is 206 of 07/08/18.”

Please help and share this appeal.
