A 25-year-old man has been charged with the murder of Lurgan dad Shane Whitla.
Mr Whitla, who will be buried on Friday, was gunned down in an alleyway off Woodville Street – close to where lived – last Thursday evening.
He was found lying on the ground a short distance away in Lord Lurgan Park. He died from a gunshot wound to the chest.
Five people have been arrested in connection with the murder in the seven days since, however, detectives have tonight (Thursday) charged a 25-year-old man with murder.
He is expected to appear before Craigavon Magistrates’ Court tomorrow, Friday, January 20.
