Around 200 garages at three Lurgan estates will see “significant improvements” in the coming months.

Upper Bann MP, Carla Lockhart, has welcomed confirmation from the Northern Ireland Housing Executive that will see works carried out on garages in the Mourneview and Grey Estate, as well as Avenue Road.

“I have been engaging with residents in Mourneview and Grey Estate and some in Avenue Road about the need for improvements to garages used by residents in these areas,” said Ms Lockhart.

“Investment and upgrades are long overdue and I am delighted that following my representation, around 200 garages will be improved.

“New doors, fascia and guttering will be installed. It will revamp these garages and make them much better to use and to look at.”

She added: “My thanks go to the residents who’ve worked with me on this, and the NIHE for accepting the arguments put forward for this scheme.”
