25 jobs in pipeline as new £4.5m Fane Valley distribution centre in Moira gets go-ahead

Agriculture food business the Fane Valley Group is set to develop a new multi-million pound distribution centre in Co Down.

The plans submitted by Belfast-based Clyde Shanks, have been approved by Lisburn and Castlereagh City Council (LCCC) on Monday (September 4).

Fane Valley will invest £4.5m to create a state-of-the-art office and industrial unit in Moira with 25 full-time jobs.

A separate application for nine modern industrial units in Dundonald were also approved during the same council meeting.

Planning committee chairperson, Alderman Martin Gregg (Alliance) said: “This is really positive news for Lisburn and Castlereagh and in particular, the villages of Dundonald and Moira.

“Both these projects will bring immediate employment and economic benefits to both areas and will help to continue to grow the council’s business prospects.

“By investing and developing new infrastructure we can help create more and better jobs for the people who live in Lisburn and Castlereagh.”

The new Fane Valley storage hub on the Glenavy Road will provide agricultural products to the group’s online sales and will supply its network of 17 retail stores across Northern Ireland.
