A man has been arrested after a woman was found dead in a flat in county Armagh last night.
The 31-year-old woman was found dead at an apartment block in Victoria Street in Lurgan on Sunday evening.
A 36-year-old man had been arrested in connection with the death.
It’s understood there were suspicious circumstances and a post-mortem examination is due to be carried out.
Councillor Catherine Seeley has expressed sympathy to the family and friends.
“First and foremost my thoughts are with the family and friends of the deceased,” she said.
“This tragic event has sent a wave of shock throughout the community in North Lurgan and beyond.”
“It is very early for any details to be released and the PSNI should be allowed space to carry out their investigations.
“I would call on anyone with any information to contact the PSNI immediately.”
