Lord Mayor urges vigilance after Christmas presents stolen in burglaries

A warning for vigilance has been sounded by Armagh Lord Mayor Cathy Rafferty, after a number of burglaries in the city in which Christmas presents and jewellery were stolen.
There have been a number of robberies in the past week – at Nursery Road and in the Callanbridge area – in which heartless thieves have brought misery in the run-up to the festive season.
“Christmas presents and jewellery were amongst the items stolen,” said Lord Mayor Rafferty.
“There also was a theft in Rosemount earlier this week.
“These are selfish criminal acts at any time but more so on the mouth of Christmas.
“I appeal to all in our communities to be vigilant and to watch out for each other. These criminals need to be apprehended and face the full rigours of the law”
